Update on Water Coolers
Monday, February 23, 2009
A major achievement, as we would call it. Soon after the university administration agreed on a proposal made by the Students’ Council on providing 24-hour water supply to all the hostels, departments and blocks, Eureka Forbes, the first to introduce domestic water purifiers - the Aquagaurd model in India have struck the bell on a deal of over 80 industrial water coolers.
The proposal includes 3 in 13th and 14th blocks and LH, a couple in the present DASA block, 2 in NAB and SAC and a few other prominent locations. Each water cooler will be having a capacity of producing at least 50 liters of cold, mineral water every hour that we are expecting to be just about enough in each block. Now as far as maintenance is concerned, the Forbes people will come and change the membrane (you know the filter, whatever) every month.
We showed our interest, we heard from them, the deal’s done. Now all you have to do is wait for a few weeks and there will be plenty of water to quench your thirst anytime of the day.
